Why Filter Size Matters
✅ Stops air leaks — ensures all air flows through the filter
🧼 Traps more dust — captures allergens & particles
⚙️ Protects your system — keeps HVAC efficient & long-lasting
Step | Instruction |
---|---|
Length & Width | Measure the longest and shortest sides of your filter or filter slot using a tape measure. Record the values in inches. |
Depth | Measure the thickness from front to back. This is often 1", 2", or sometimes more. |
Combine | Write the full size in the format: Length × Width × Depth. For example: 20×25×1. |
Helpful Tips:
- ❌Don’t skip the depth — it matters.
- ❌ Don’t leave gaps — always fit it snugly.
- ✅Do check the size printed on your old filter (if it's still readable).
- ✅Round up measurements to the nearest inch — most filters use nominal sizes.
